We are taking you behind the scenes at Panama PR. In our “Meet the team” series we will introduce you to our consultants and give you insights into our everyday work.
Episode 2: Ann Katrin Fritz, better known as Anka, has been an integral part of the team since 2008.
What is the best thing about your job? What do you enjoy most?
The best thing for me are the different topics, I don’t think you can find such a variety in any other profession: lipstick, power tools, lingerie, luxury hotels, Champagne, heating control or hiking gear – these are only some of my topics in almost 20 years of my career.
What was the funniest or most beautiful experience at Panama PR so far?
In 2010 I ran a PR project with INTERSPORT for the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin. Together with participants from all over Europe I was in the front row when Usain Bolt made his world record in the 100 m sprint.
Many years ago, we were on a team trip to Tübingen for punting on the river. We had countless bottles of Champagne with us. We and our boatsman enjoyed the trip and the wonderful weather very much – with every bottle the merriment grew.
What is the best food you have enjoyed at the Tuesday team lunchtime so far?
I especially remember one of my favourite meals: Birgit cooked lentils with spätzle noodles and sausages for us. Our French colleague Emilie said in horror: That is the ugliest food she had ever eaten.
What was your funniest reaction so far to the question “What do you actually do as a PR consultant”?
What I find funny is what my mum used to tell other people when asked what her daughter does for a living: “She does PR – it’s something like advertising, but without advertising”.
Early or late riser?
If it was me to decide that and not my sons – then late riser.
Coffee or tea?
Coffee, espresso, Schümli or filter coffee: I am flexible.
